Crawdad Slough II

This is part of our project to paint the Cook County Forest Preserves. We have been painting once a week for about a year. I have started posting some of the better paintings. Here is the painting I did at Crawdad Slough. It is a very small pond and there were a lot of herons hanging out there. I don't know if they were blue herons or grey herons but they were beautiful. The pond is small and there is usually no one around. Most places we go to paint have a few fishermen. I feel much more comfortable painting with my friend Sue than being there alone. The day we were here painting there was a photographer taking pictures of the herons. He told us about another place called McClaughrey Springs so we went there the next week to paint. That place was so busy we had people running and walking past us all day. I think there were at least 2 or 3 track teams out running.
