My Adventures in Plein Air

I have been painting in oil for a couple of years, but last week I brought out my pastels. I was a little rusty, but it was fun and it reminded me how much I enjoyed painting with pastels. My friend Sue Flanagan and I went to the Bobolink Picnic area in the Cook County Forest Preserves. This is the result. I think I will stick with pastels for a while, I need the practice.

Adventures in Plein Air Painting

"Sterling Lake" is another plein air painting I did recently. Sterling Lake is in a tucked away corner of the Morton Arboretum, one of my favorite places to paint. It is kind of off the main road, and pretty isolated. It is also beautiful. I will never get tired of going to Morton to paint and I don't think I will ever get to all of the "paintable" places there.
